There is one editorial comment Our Father wants stated at the beginning of this message. Our Father does not make suggestions to you Born Again Christians to make you feel guilty, nor does He want you to be afraid of the future judgment which is coming. Our Father makes suggestions because He wants you to see or be able to evaluate where you are in your Christian life and move from that point to a greater maturity in your Christian life. The more you mature in your Christian life the more you will be able to express the Glory of Our Father and have mountaintop experiences in your life.

PORTRAIT: A very large mall with a large parking lot full with several hundred vehicles. This was a Sunday morning and many Christians were doing their shopping on Sunday morning instead of being in their local churches.

HOLY SPIRIT: There is an area of discipline for you Born Again Christians to be thinking about. In Old Testament times Our Father’s Chosen People worshiped on the last day of the week, referred to as the Sabbath Day. They did this for two reasons.

FIRST OF ALL, they were following the example of Our Father who after six days of creating rested on the seventh day to establish a pattern for us humans on Planet Earth. The pattern was that every seventh day we are to rest and commune with Our Father as we mediate about the meaning of His Creation.

Genesis 2:2 – And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made. And He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

SECONDLY, they observed the Sabbath Day because Our Father gave them a commandment to do so. In New Testament times the Born Again Christians continued the meaning of the Sabbath Day, but they began to observe the Sabbath Day on the first day of the week (Sunday) remembering the Resurrection of Your Lord. The Scripture says that after the Resurrection of Christ Our Lord, He met with His Disciples on the first day of the week in commemoration of His Resurrection.

You Born Again Christians are receiving a similar challenge from Our Father which Our Father’s Chosen People received in Old Testament times. Following their example, Our Father is challenging you to CEASE YOUR DAILY WORK ON YOUR LORD’S DAY AND GIVE PRIORITY TO REST AND WORSHIP. Our Father gives this challenge, not as a matter of forming a good habit, but because even though you are a Born Again Christian, you have a NEED in your inner spirit for doing this.

You read in the scriptures that one of the reasons Our Father’s Chosen People were to observe the Sabbath Day was to remember that Our Father had delivered them from bondage and slavery in a foreign land.

Deuteronomy 5:15 – And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and with a stretched-out arm. Therefore Jehovah your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.

When Our Father’s Chosen People were not faithful in remembering how Our Father had delivered them from bondage in a foreign country, they yielded to sin and began to worship other gods.

As a Born Again Christian you know that you have been delivered from the bondage of sin. You have an inner need to remember this on a weekly basis on the Lord’s Day or Sabbath Day. Our Father has created you in such a way that if you are to be faithful to Our Father and mature in your Christian life, you need to observe the Lord’s Day on a weekly basis, remembering the One Who delivered you from your sin and how He delivered you from your sin.

My dear Saints, did you realize the important significance of what Holy Spirit said?

Holy Spirit wants to state this that Born Again Christians who observe the Lord’s Day on a weekly basis come under the category of being WISE VIRGINS.

Mat 25:1 – Then shall the kingdom of Heaven be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

Mat 25:2 – And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Mat 25:3 – The foolish ones took their lamps, but took no oil with them.

Mat 25:4 – But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Mat 25:5 – While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Mat 25:6 – And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes! Go out to meet him.

Mat 25:7 – Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

Mat 25:8 – And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps have gone out.

Mat 25:9 – But the wise answered, saying, No, lest there be not enough for us and you. But rather go to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.

Mat 25:10 – And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came. And they who were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.

Mat 25:11 – Afterwards the other virgins came also, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Mat 25:12 – But he answered and said, Truly I say to you, I do not know you.

Mat 25:13 – Therefore watch, for you do not know either the day or the hour in which the Son of Man comes.

Hebrews 10:25 – Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
