The purpose of this message is to point out that we human beings living on Planet Earth have a lot in common with the Angels. Holy Spirit says that a good way to see this is to begin with reviewing some of the ways that we human beings and Angels are different.

Psalm 68:17 – The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

Hebrews 12:22 – But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable number of angels.

One obvious difference between human beings and the Angels is that there are MANY MORE ANGELS than human beings. It is possible to count the number of people living on Planet Earth. For example, one source on the Internet shows that at the present time there about six billion to seven billion people living on Planet Earth.

But, according to what Holy Spirit inspired to be written in Hebrew 12:22 it is impossible for us humans to NUMBER OR COUNT the Angels.

When Holy Spirit inspired these words, because of the eternal foreknowledge of Our Father, He knew that human beings would have computers someday. And yet, He (HS) told us that there are so many Angels that human beings do not have the capacity to be able to count them. There will always be more Angels than even the combined total number of people born on Planet Earth from the beginning of time to the end of time.

There is a word of encouragement to state at this point. When Christ Our Lord was going through His time of trial that would result in His Crucifixion, in Matthew 26:53 it is stated that He could have called twelve legions of Angels for assistance.

Matthew 26:53 – Do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He shall presently give Me more than TWELVE LEGIONS OF ANGELS?

Since a full legion of Roman soldiers was six thousand one hundred soldiers, this means that Christ Our Lord could have called seventy-three thousand two hundred angels. (73,200) And, this would not have created a shortage of Angels anywhere. There will always be more Angels than the combined number of people living on Planet Earth, Saints in Heaven, and sinners in Hell.

Psalm 103:20 – Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of the word.

2 Peter 2:11 – Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

These TEXT VERSES state another difference between Angels and human beings. Angels are much more powerful than human beings. In TEXT VERSE 4 the words POWER AND MIGHT refer both to inherent ability and strength that the Angels have. The power and might of the Angels are GREATER than the evil blasphemers mentioned in 2 Peter 2:10. Some Bible scholars feel that these blasphemers include false prophets. The idea is that the power and might of the Angels is greater than not only those doing evil acts, but also the demons that are influencing people to do evil acts. This means that not only is the power and might of Angels greater than that of human beings, but also greater than that of demons.

At this point Holy Spirit says it is time to get to the theme of this message, which is about the things that we humans have in common with Angels. The next two TEXT VERSES are a transition into this topic. The two verses will show both a similarity and a difference we have with Angels.

Ezekiel 1:15 – Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.

Ezekiel 1:18 – As for the rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were FULL OF EYES ROUNDABOUT THEM four.

At this point I must admit that I am not sure that I totally can picture in my mind the description Prophet Ezekiel gave of the Angel or Angels he saw. Yet, one thing I note in TEXT VERSE 6 is that there were eyes for sight. This is a similarity for us humans. Human beings have eyes for sight or seeing, and so do the Angels have eyes for sight or seeing.

But note there is a big difference. We humans can only see straight ahead, and can only enlarge that area of sight by turning our heads from side to side. The Angels evidently can see all the way around them, that is the whole 360 degrees of the circle. This is a most interesting concept. This supports the truth that when I get to Heaven, I will be able to see Our Father/Christ Our Lord/Holy Spirit, all the Angels, and all the Saints, including family and loved ones. This also posses the possibility of there being a very new interesting experience for me when I get to our Homeland of Heaven.

If being AS THE ANGELS includes this matter of sight, then it will be a most interesting experience for me when I can see all around me like the Angels, and not just straight ahead. Now for some more things that Angels and us humans have in common.

Nehemiah 9:6 – You, even You, are Lord alone. You have made the heavens, heaven of the heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things on it, the seas, and all in them, and You preserve them all. And the host of the heavens worships You.

In this verse Prophet Nehemiah was inspired to write that Our Father created the heaven of Heavens, which is Our Homeland in Heaven, and Planet Earth and all that exist on Planet Earth. The term HOSTS IN HEAVEN refers to the ANGELS. So, this means that one thing we have in common with the Angels is that Our Father created the Angels and He created us. There are two results of this that we share together.

  • Our Father PRESERVES both the Angels and us. This means that not only did He create both of us, but also that He provides for and sustains both of us.
  • Both the Angels and us human beings worship Our Father.

Genesis 1:27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female created He them.

Genesis 2:7 – And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.

TEXT VERSE 8 and TEXT VERSE 9 gives us a summary of Our Father creating Man and Woman and placing them on Planet Earth to live. When Our Father breathed the breath of life into Man, he became a living soul. This means that, as with the Angels, when Our Father created Man, He placed a quality of life of Himself into Man. Thus Our Father created the Angels from a quality from within Himself, and He created us human beings from a quality from within Himself.

One difference to note again is that Our Father placed Man in a human body so he could live on Planet Earth. Our Father did not place the Angels in human bodies. Our Father eventually took part of Man and made Woman, and gave them the ability to reproduce offspring. This was so there could be an increase in the number of human beings needed to be stewards of Planet Earth. Our Father created all the Angels in existence at one time so He did not give them any ability to reproduce.

Since the factor of time did not come into being until Our Father created the universe of Planet Earth and Planet Earth, it is difficult to state when the Angels were created. It is possible to state a time when Man was created. If one counts back the generations of people in the Bible you come to the date of approximately 4000 BC. Both theologians and scientists debate when time actually began, but regardless of that debate, there was an event of creation when Our Father created time and that is when He created Man. All we know is that it was before Our Father created the event in which He created time that He created all the Angels in existence.
